To celebrate the 22nd Smile Day (Girls' Day), the School of Foreign Studies held the Smile Fete in Ziyuan Square on March 7. The Smile Fete set up three activities to inspire college girls to learn history and cultivate their virtues.

The College of Foreign Studies established an activity of listening and singing red songs which is to commemorate the heroes who dedicated themselves to the development, liberation, prosperity and social progress of China. Their heartening stories inspired college students to strive for excellence.

The School of Foreign Studies creates a special quiz activity in which participants need to read quotes of famous women aloud or to learn a famous quote in foreign language. Many students say that they not only learn about many excellent women but also feel the charm of language.

As a traditional festival for girls in UPC, the Smile Day is originated from the year of 2000 and kicks off on March 8th every year. It is aimed to show the vitality of female students and guide them to strive for excellence, knowledge and innovation. The School of Foreign Studies carries out special activities to encourage female students to cultivate virtues.
