Sharing Session of Internship in ASEAN-China International Organization

On November 29, 2020, the 40th “Bo Yun Shu Xiang” activity was successfully held in Room A415 of the Integrated Laboratory Building. The theme of this activity is to share the internship experience in ASEAN-China International Organization, aiming to further expand students’ international outlook. Ma Teng, the master from English translation major 2018, was the lecturer of the sharing meeting, and the audience were the master of English translation major of 2019 and 2020.

This sharing meeting was divided into two parts. In the first part, Ma Teng introduced the concepts of international organizations and the types of talents needed by international organizations from three aspects, namely “Me before you, Work for you, You raise me up”. Based on her own experience, she introduced the internship positions and work contents of ASEAN-China Centre and other international organizations, and shared the internship experience of international organizations. She said this progress had enlarged her international vision, improved her ability in terms of coordination, cooperation, exchange and communication as well as cultivating a new perspective on international pattern. Finally, she introduced the application methods and the relevant national supporting policies, and encouraged students to seize the opportunity.

Wang Xiaoqiong, the director of the Career Guidance Department of the Student Career Guidance Center, made a brief summary of Ma Teng’s lecture, and spoke highly of her work and contribution during internship in the ASEAN-China Centre. She said our university currently encourages students to actively apply for internships in international organizations by providing supporting scholarships and grants, hoping that students can lay a good foundation in language skills and actively apply so as to explore new chances in career development.

This sharing meeting has stimulated the enthusiasm of students of the School of Foreign Studies, and has important guiding significance for improving the quality of personnel training and realizing employment with wider range and higher quality for students.
