On August 29 and 30, the 9th National Interpreting Competition (English) was held online.
After preliminary selection and training, our school sent 6 students to participate in the competition on behalf of Shandong competition area. After fierce competition, Zhang Yao, an undergraduate of English major, and Liu Haodong, a master of MTI, won the third prize; Wang Yan, Zhao Huan, Ma Shuang, and Deng Yuyan, other students from English major, received the excellence award. Instructors Li Yanyun and Zhu Shan from the Department of English Language and Literature won the title of excellent instructors.
The competition demonstrated our students’ interpretation level, good English application ability and comprehensive quality, expanding UPC’s influence in the field of translation teaching and research. Meanwhile, our students have accumulated rich experience, which will provide valuable reference for the cultivation of translation talents and further improvement of their competence and performance.
