On July 10, 2020, the professor committee of the School of Foreign Studies held a meeting to discuss the compilation of the 14th Five Year Plan with the leading group of the school. The meeting was presided over by Professor Sun Daman, the vice dean and deputy director of the professor committee.
At the meeting, Sun Daman conveyed the spirit and requirements of the notice on the holding of the 14th Five Year Plan promotion meeting. On behalf of the school, Zhang Yongning, member of the professor committee and Secretary of the school, introduced the summary of the 13th Five Year plan and the preparatory work for the 14th Five Year Plan. Members of the professor committee gave the full affirmation to each work and discussed the problems in the development of the school and their countermeasures. According to the discussion, the school has made gratifying achievements and great progress during the 13th Five Year Plan period, but talent cultivation is still the biggest bottleneck and key factor in the development of the school. Therefore, the construction of teaching staff shall be highly valued as the starting point and the link, the construction of discipline and degree as well as scientific research be attached great importance by making full use of the advantages of the school, so as to further highlight the development characteristics.
Through this meeting, a clearer understanding of the development status of the school was formed, and the future development direction and strategy were further clarified, which laid a good foundation for the compilation of the 14th Five Year Plan.
