Dr. Dong Jinxin, teacher from the Department of Law in our college delivered keynote speech titled Private International Law Problems in the Football-related Work Contract Dispute at Player Contracts Forum 2017 held in Law School of Beijing Normal University on April 18th.
Dr. Dong proposed that employment contract disputes between players and football clubs has been uplifting due to thriving of professional matches and players' frequent cross-border shifting. Those contracts, as part of civil relations with foreign elements, should also be subject toprivate international law. Dr. Dong assumes that to tackle this issue, a better system should be constructed within the framework of private international law, since this kind of contract differs from other labor contract with foreign elements, in that others are sub-branches of traditional private international law while player contract is not.
