Cangya Team, the delegating team for UPC, won the second prize in 2016 Confucius & Analects Competition, officially declared on the website for the Party construction of Shandong Colleges and Universities on October 14th, 2016.
The competition had taken offsince April. UPC launched the campus trial early in May, 14th. The pick-up match was sponsored by Students Affairs Office of UPC, jointly undertaken by the League Committee and the Chinese Department in our college, and co-organizedby the Students' Union of our college and Hanlin Chinese Classics Club. Six students finally gained qualifications for the semifinal of Shandong Division through two-round contention. Yet after a keen competition held in Jinan in July, only Cangya Team, members including Du Nanyue, Cui Chenglong, and Zhang Xiaowen stayed with other 5 delegating teams participating the final in August.
Actually, Cangya Team went on a tortuous road to their prize. It had been defeated by other five teams on August 13th. Luckily they revived after a 48-hour we-chat polling. On August 19th, Cangya Team fought vigorously against the other five teams, finally ranked fourth the next day.
Cui Chenglong, member of Cangya Team said to the reporter that: “Though we experienced a winding course, I have learned a lot from this. After all, we showed ourselves in this competition.”
