College English Teachers Attending Seminars held by FLT Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education

· College English Teachers were invited to participate in high-end seminars themed with “effectiveness of teaching and cultivation of ability under the background of Internet plus” sponsored by the National Foreign Language Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education in successive two days from May sixth to eighth. Under the theme of “Building Connection, Helping Learning”, specialists and scholars such as Wang Shouren, Yu Shengquan, Zhang Hong, Wu Zhongjie made excellent speeches. Parallel forum brought together the experiences and exploration based on hybrid teaching model from institution of higher learning such as University of Science and Technology Beijing, Chongqing University, Nankai University, Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and and Law.

· Participants, around the effectiveness of college English class, have a heated discussion on teaching content, teaching mode, classroom management, curriculum assessment, research and development of teaching materials, teacher development. Conference clearly stated future college English teaching should be based on Internet technology, applying hybrid teaching model, and always put the effectiveness of teaching and the cultivation of ability in the first place.

· In April, the meeting was held in Beijing, aiming at establishing the development path for College English, which focused on general use, academy and general education. Now, the meeting held recently involves discussions about how to carry it out, making clear requirements and solutions for deepening the teaching reform in College English and improving its teaching quality. The meeting also stresses the important role of teachers in this transition process. The meeting is of great theoretical and practical importance to further deepen our reform in College English teaching, maintain high-quality development and establish connation-bearing and distinctive development.
