From September 25th to 27th,the 4th international conference of the Chinese Association for ESP & The 7th international conference on ESP in Asia was held in the College of Arts of China University of Petroleum.
This conference was organized by the Chinese Association for ESP, Taiwan Association for ESP and the Research Center for Professional Communication of PolyU.More than 230 experts and young scholars from 158 colleges and universities came together and explored the teaching and research of ESP. They worked together tocope with the challenges that higher education internationalization and economic globalization have brought to English Teaching.
The theme of the conference is “Teaching and Research of ESP in Asia: Retrospect and Prospect”.In the conference, four representatives of relevant organizations gave their speeches, such as Li Zhaomin, vice president of UPC. Four scholars from internationally renowned universities made keynote speeches. Besides, scholars communicated on topics ofcurriculum and course design in ESP,ESP teacher development and so on.
This conference had great impact on ESP research in both Asia and the world, and played a positive role in promoting the reform and improvement of ESP in Asia, especially in China.
